GE Logiq E9 ultrasound system

£12,000.00

The GE Logiq E9 is a premium general service ultrasound machine capable of delivering premium feminine health and 4D imaging as well as clear imaging for radiology, heart and vascular disease. GE’s breakthrough technology in the Logiq E9 is XDclear, an imaging technology that uses advanced monocrystalline transducers, acoustic amplification and cooling technology to improve image quality, especially in deeper penetrations where image quality tends to deteriorate. For even higher image quality, consider the GE Logiq E9 with XDclear 2.0, GE’s full-featured general purpose ultrasound system.

GE healthcare Logiq E9 is suitable for multipurpose clinic. Compared to other GE models, such as the GE Vivid line, which specializes in cardiovascular applications, and the GE Voluson line, which focuses on women’s health and 4D, the GE Logiq E9 can handle both of these applications as well as radiology and general imaging. Conversely, healthcare professionals who plan to use the Logiq E9 system solely for one or two applications may instead consider the GE Voluson E8 for obstetrics / gynecology and 4D applications or the GE Vivid E9 for cardiac applications. The Logiq E9 has been in production since 2009 and is both stable and reliable, even in older versions dating back to BT11 (also known as R3 or revision 3). A refurbished GE Logiq E9 starts at around $ 16,500, but can go up to $ 26,500 depending on condition, age, features, usage and sensor availability, which could push the starting price up to around $ 19,000. Revisions
GE Logiq E9 BT09 to BT15: Revisions and Features
GE launched the Logiq E9 in 2009. That first version was designated as BT09. (“BT” is an abbreviation of “Break Through,” and the number designates the year in which this version was launched.)The GE Logiq E9 BT09 was in production until 2010 when the Logiq E9 premium BT10 was introduced. The BT versions are also referred to as a Rev. or revision. The BT09 is Rev 1, BT10 is Rev 2, and so on for subsequent years. Each new version of the Logiq E9 has improved hardware or software, access to new transducers, and fixes to any glitches or bugs compared to the previous year’s model.

The Logiq E9 BT11 added strain-based elastography and Elasto QA as an option. The Logiq E9 BT13 added XDclear as an option, along with access to the new C1-6D and C2-9D convex transducers that were made specifically for the new XDclear technology. The BT13 was also based on a new BEP (back end processor) to improve its imaging performance. In the Logic E9 BT14, GE again upgraded the BEP and added optional Shear Wave Elastography.

Advanced Logiq E9 Ultrasound Probes: 4D and TEE

The Logiq E9 BT13 supports 23 different transducers including the [ 2 – 8 MHz ] 6Tc TEE probe for cardiac applications (though without 4D) and a full range of six-volume transducers including the rare [ 3 – 10 MHz ] RNA5-9-D 4d micro convex transducer, and the equally rare [ 6 – 18 MHz ] RSP6-16-D 4d linear transducer. Very few ultrasound machines besides the Logiq E9 support all these probes in one unit. This is a fantastic cost-savings for a multi-application clinic or radiology department that can purchase one unit that does the same work as 2 or 3 others. The [ 4 – 15 MHz ] L8-18i-D intraoperative linear is perfect for scanning in the small area within a surgical incision.

Popular Transducers for the GE Logiq E9

The [ 1 – 6 MHz ] C1-5-D convex is the most popular convex transducer for the Logiq E9 in general applications because of its versatility and affordable price. The [ 3 – 11 MHz ] 11L-D linear transducer is likewise versatile and able to handle peripheral vascular, abdominal, small parts, and MSK imaging. The [ 3 – 10 MHz ] IC5-9-D is the most popular intracavitary transducer for the Logiq E9 balancing affordability with good OB/GYN and Urology imaging.

Competitors

GE Ultrasound Machines Comparable to the Logiq E9

The GE Logiq E9 is the successor to the older Logiq 9. The “E” in the Logiq E9 name stands for the “expert” series, used for the premium level products from GE. The Logiq S8 is a high-end system just below the Logiq E9 in price and features. Other “E level” products similar to the Logiq E9 are the Voluson E8 and Vivid E9. The Logiq E9 is targeted toward Radiology but can also perform well in women’s health and cardiology. If you specialize in women’s health and will never need to access the cardiac applications of the Logiq E9 then the Voluson E8 might be a better choice. Likewise, a cardiologist that needs only cardiovascular applications might use a Logiq E9 but would be better suited to the Vivid E9.
